2025 CMPRSA Committees

Executive Committee

The executive committee is responsible for managing the board’s strategy and progress, connection with PRSA and other board governing functions. It includes:

• President-Elect

• IDEA Champion

Communications Committee

CMPRSA’s communications committee promotes chapter activities and shares industry and member news to current and future members via social media, newsletters and more. The committee is responsible for maintaining the chapter website, managing event promotions and social media channels and designing creative assets as needed. 

Member Engagement and Development Committee

The CMPRSA member engagement and development committee supports programming and activities that engage new and seasoned public relations professionals. The committee works to enhance inclusion, diversity, ethics and advocacy across activities while engaging members and prospective members. This committee receives support from the:

• Sponsorship Chair

Annual Awards (PACE) Committee

The CMPRSA Annual Awards Committee plans the PACE Awards. The PACE Awards are mid-Michigan’s highest honor of public relations activities and are awarded annually to practitioners who—in the judgment of their national peers—have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Executive committee sponsorship entails regular check-ins and barrier removal. 

Member Outreach Committee

The CMPRSA member outreach committee works to grow chapter membership by retaining and attracting members. The committee administers an annual member survey, supports a mentoring program and cultivates chapter leadership. This committee should work closely with MSU PRSSA. This committee receives support from the:

• East Central District Chair
• Membership Chair
• MSU PRSSA Adviser
• Nominating Committee Chair

Professional Development Day Committee

The Professional Development Day Committee plans the annual event hosted by CMPRSA, brought back in 2023 after a several year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event involves speakers on PR and communications topics to help attendees level up their careers. The Professional Development Day Chair leads the committee, with executive committee sponsorship to ensure regular check-ins and barrier removal.
