ABOUT: This position functions as the statewide specialist for planning, facilitating, and implementing public meetings and hearings for the environmental clearance of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) projects. This position coordinates public outreach and involvement with the MDOT region communications and planning staff, consultant teams, and project managers. This position certifies to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) that all public involvement on individual projects, whether in-house or consultant, has met the standards established by MDOT procedures. Managing the public involvement process must be executed efficiently and effectively to deliver the Department’s program on schedule.
